this is an invitation to be part of our exhibition: "one hundred temples"... {find hyperlinks pointing to names mentioned below[be advised capital letters are not used on purpose to avoid hierarchies amongst words])

a bit of insight; or just go to the following paragraph for more juice... it was the fourth of june twenty eighteen at four thirty pm the moment dresden vision received the outline for the seed project that we are now acting upon... the one page document outlined the idea of making one hundred variations based on their very successful geometry... part of the collective is/[and still are] very proud owners of a few pairs... the idea of the simple, quasi hackable geometry... "hackable" being the word to blame for never receiving any word back from them... *note: the first intention was to have a table, a booth of sorts where people who loved their glasses would come in and ask for a three dimensional personalized glitch to add to or replace part of the object{s} (frame, temple or pins[those being the only components to this successful project])...  never discouraged by the lack of success in the proposal we proceeded to make a few temples... in order to customize the glasses and wore them happily every now and then...  amongst them we did some labyrinth texture popping out, men pointing to opposite directions, angular and organic shapes and text substractions... time went by and so... last year asha (friend, beacon of strength and jeweller) pointed the way to chris savage (optometrist, super talented maker, hopefully future sensei and friend)... a few conversations in with the savage man and encouragement finds a way to bring the project from the grave and consolidate new threads with ophelia and hopefully all of you talented individuals...

the core! we encourage without limitations for you to explore the idea of one, two or more lenses set in a frame (of sorts) worn on the nose and ears (typically but not exclusively) in order to correct deficiencies in eyesight or to ornament the face... we do not want to dictate if they have to be wearable which would be ideal (selma is already talking about blowing out the scale to suit something bigger than a traditional human head), manufacturable or economically viable... we suggest for you to use the materials commonly used in your practice....

particularities...as savage as chris might seem, he's got something for dates and calendars, so keep in mind the exhibition will happen the fifth of september of the current year from six to nine in a gallery to be confirmed...here we'll have the ability to broadcast/ showcase your project/ practice in more depth... (more information would be provided at a later stage [mainly as we find the gallery space to exhibit]) and as part of the exhibition, we'll be parking ophelia in strategic places aka outside selected optometrists in sydney to generate a bit of gravity previous to the exhibition....

the long shot goal is to have an annual exhibition with makers/artists/friends...
please be advised having your work a month in advance will be an imperative to keep you as part of the traveling part of the project....

for more insight or any questions contact us .... we will be updating the list of participants as you accept this invitation linked to your socials so we can get to know more about your practice and "vision"...
have fun and see you soon!

different visions with their dreams... how to materialize ludic interpretations? how to play games and bring them to life? do we need glasses to fit in? glassware as fun... objects as means of conversation... what you see, is not my reality... but yet we walk over the same eroded land... come play... show us your vision!... for the time being an explosion of faces with glasses... or an explosion of glasses with faces behind them...different materials, over different skins, colors and colours...way too many eyes...
