angelique, ashley, yuka:
hola all! its a delight to know this is getting legs and slowly walking... angelique, yuka: meet ashley (as usual i feel compeled to collaborate with as many creatives, learn and be exposed to other disciplines)... ashley meet this two talents... if you hover over and click on your names you will find links to your socials... please do not feel obliged to accept anything until you feel comfortable, please bring to the table any concerns or thoughts... ideally it would be nice to catch up in sydney sometime next week...
the intention of the following tab on the website is to keep you informed... as the interaction develops i will be updating every step, so we know whats happening... if at any stage anyone has an idea... let me know so i can make changes accordingly...
angelique suggested in the beginning of this interaction to make this a mothers day special... and after many hours thinking about my mom and what could've, should've happen i would like to reconceptualize a few ideas.... :
*plants, representing beauty, perfection/decay and the ever present force of nature
*kodamas (japanese mythology), a name that for me makes allusion to the spirit of the forest... the sculptures being made out of discarded plastic... plastic being, natures oldest material, extracted and thrown away with not too much thought... what if we can elevate its meaning, celebrate its long lasting properties... material as conversation with past, present and future...
*shibari... binding force, tying everything together... subtle knots... suspending the pieces, freezing them in time and space...
i have always felt really grateful by the fact that i was raised by women and i think i have always felt much more comfortable, with and around you beings of nature...
mothers, as sensual element, all giving, tying nature with myths... rope, umbilical cord, chords... music, life...
somehow, i think mothers, socially abandon or let go off their sensual value... which can tie them to other meaningful connections... i would like to explore this idea... disambiguations, ideas, misinterpretations and old concepts...
thanks for the time spent here, browsing, reading, watching the video... may you have productive beautiful days!
